Climate change is a problem that affects all of us, and we must face it together. This is why, under the leadership of the Chamber of Commerce of Bogota and of the Ministry of the Environment, the Carbon Neutrality Business Summit was held last May.
An overview of the problematics was presented in the event; emphasis was made on the good practices carried out at present, and companies were encouraged to become increasingly more responsible to reduce, mitigate, and offsett their carbon emissions which are the main generators of global warming.
Eight agribusiness companies of the network located in Antioquia and in the Sabana de Bogota which have participated in the Carbon Neutral Strategy of Colombia since October 2021 have been able to move forward in the program led by the National Government and now form part of three different groups according to their management level.
Some are now quantifying and reporting their GHG (greenhouse gases) inventory; others have focused on formulating management plans, and the most advanced, Cultivos La Planicie ane Cultivos Casablanca, await the certification of their process.
